What maps we'll need and who we should commission them from.

The maps I can think of off the top of my head are the explore/hunting map(s) and the map of Avesdale. I imagine we could use the same map for hunting as we do exploring. If we need to change labels on the map I think that could be done easily enough so long as we get a PSD with the text and images on separate layers.

Agreed. Explore/hunting, Avesdale, and maybe one of the world if there are other villages or cities later on. By explore and hunting, though, do you mean the backgrounds of the locations, or navigation maps to go to the locations?

Guys, I've found something amazing, regarding the style. WHAT IF: forgetdeny.deviantart.com/gallery/38796437/Maps ? I'm not sure if the artist is actively taking commissions and how much do these cost, but they made a tutorial on how to make similar things. OR, alternatively: fav.me/d4q406x modern 'atlas' styled maps? Could work for both world/regions and cities/towns.

Those are really neat maps! My only worry is that they might not fit the style we have for the site right now. Your landscape art will (hopefully) be all over the explore feature, if not other places as well. Those maps are very different from your style. That and these maps are for a much larger area than I was anticipating for our map. (Obviously things can change. I'm just putting it out there.)
Question: do you think you might be able to do a version of the first person's maps, but more with your style than theirs? Or just a map with your style in general?

Honestly I've always wanted to try my hand at cartography, all these natural squiggles are fascinating. Knowing myself I would use the tutorial that artist posted as a starting point only. So possibly yes.<3

That makes me very excited. ^_^ So our next step would be to decide where everything should go, right? I posted an idea for discussion here, but I'm not sold that it should be where things are located. Obviously the dimensions of it can change easily, but yeah. It's just a rough idea.
