For each species in the Master List, please post your ideas here of what the different species' eggs will look like.

So, uh, image dump post here I guess, sorry. Just to work out the exact design you'd want on the eggs. Diniao egg- generic night sky, galaxy, darker one with a moon, lighter one with slightly more natural colours. Roc egg- natural-ish speckled one, swirly typhoon thing, random tribal designs. Pamola egg- natural grey one, deep ice, and something or other, I don't know.

Those all look really cool Sooshi! For the Diniao I like the galaxy one the best I think; Roc, the speckled one; and Pamola the deep ice one. They all look good though! What do you think Sooshi? What do the rest of you guys think? Which ones do you like best?? ^_^

I like the deep ice one the best as well, and the speckled one for the roc egg. The Diniao was kind of a wide range, so I was on the fence. But it depends if you want a design like the speckles one there or something more like Felisfire has, with swirls and bright colours.

I don't think they should look too outlandish (maybe the fourth one would be best for Diniao...). The art style of the site will hopefully be realism and while these are mythological birds, we're not really a fantasy game. We're more "what real life could be like if mythical birds coexisted with us."

I think I like the third one, but maybe if it was a little brighter.
And don't worry about the shape! I actually rather like them. If the outline was a little thinner I think they might be site-ready. c:

Second or third I think. What do you think?
I'm really excited for everyone else to get online again so they can tell us what they think of the different egg designs too!

Oh, or this one, but I just adjusted the shading so it wasn't as overbearing. To be honest, I think whatever it is that we pick of these will be different from what we end up with, so the small differences are less important than main themes and the kind of design you could explain or show to an artist to replicate for a finished product. That said, I do like the second one the best, because it has just a bit less of a smooth gradient and it looks a bit like it's glowing at the bottom.

You wouldn't want these to be used for the site?

Well, if you did, I could do them over with the right shapes and shadings and things (and thinner outlines, definitely) but 90% of my art skills are fancy brushes, so I'm not sure you'd want them on the site permanently.

I don't really see how else someone would make the eggs look nice and "natural." Wouldn't any other artist do that too?

True. I'll give it a shot, but I'm going away for 2 days so I won't be around until Sunday. What do you think the Orit egg should be? The shape of a downy woodpecker egg, since they're based off of that kind of bird, but it could be earthy tones (given their real-world lookalikes live inside of trees, and to round out the elemental theme that's been picked up) or it could be something based off of the bird itself, with black and white bars and a small area of red.
